A Consistent Woman

I can’t believe 2018 has officially come to an end!? & boy did this year kick my butt! BUT it was so many things I accomplished in 2018 like being at my first post-college job as a clinical therapist for a year and being a guest speaker at my alumni high school and speaking to the graduating seniors. I became an official member of my long time church, traveled a lot and spent  countless hours on the beach and welcomed a new nephew and tons of other precious babies from my friends and family!

I will be honest and say though, 2018 was definitely a tough year for me! It was a lot of things I didn’t get to do out of my own lack of discipline and focus. I don’t write enough blog posts that I intended too, argued way too much with close friends, did not start a business like I wanted too, and didn’t get engaged (ha ha ha!)

Even though I cried a lot during 2018 and took so many L’s, it has shown me exactly who I need to be in 2019; a more consistent woman ! Consistency is my only goal for 2019! I see now that I’ve been struggling with with being consistent with things such as blogging, going to the gym, keeping plans with friends, studying the bible, and with whatever else I put my time into. I’m so ready to change that!

I narrowed down 5 avenues in my life I want to focus in on and be more consistent with:

*Consistent with my time/schedule

*Consistent with saving my money

*Consistent with my blog

*Consistent with my obedience to God

*Consistent with protecting my peace

Here’s three ways I plan to do to help me stay consistent:

Goal setting.

For 2019, I plan on writing down every goal i have. I have a new planner that I plan to write down daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals that I can revisit each day. Each goal I write down will be specific and realistic with a time frame written in them as well for accountability.

For example, I plan to go to the gym 3 days out of the week for at least 45 minutes for the next 6 months.

Setting boundaries

Boundaries with others will make it easier for me to stay focused on myself and what I need and want to do. I plan to be less involved on my phone and social media. I also plan to say “NO” a lot more this year. I’m always a go to person for my friends and family but that has been overwhelming for me and my own mental health so this year! So I plan to place healthy boundaries between myself and my loved ones. I look forward to protecting my peace more and getting back to poring love into myself the way I do others.

Creating a new schedule

So the only schedule I have mainly is my work schedule and that’s just not going to cut it anymore! I’m a very on the go person and a late sleeper but in 2019 I plan need to be more organized with my time and create a consistent schedule that will help do all of the things i need too! I definitely am going to begin to have scheduled times during the week to write blog posts, go to the gym, hang with friends, and spend alone time with mediating/praying and reading the bible. Hopefully a new schedule can keep me motivated and organized onto the tasks I need to complete!

Despite the negatives and non consistency, overall I am thankful for 2018 and everything it came with! I want to say THANK YOU to all of my readers and I have SO much in store for my blog for 2019! STAY TUNED !!!!! Salute to 2018 & cheers to 2019, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

Thanks for reading!

Peace, blessings & therapy,

Alicia.
